George Tan, MD, MBA, is a board-certified gastroenterologist specializing in comprehensive digestive health care and has over 15 years of medical experience.  He graduated with honors from UC Berkeley with a major in Integrative Biology and later received his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.  He obtained honors in Internal Medicine and completed his residency in UC Irvine Medical Center and later pursued additional fellowship training in Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Augusta University where he participated in numerous research projects and authored several publications in the field of Gastroenterology.  He also holds a Healthcare M.B.A. from George Washington University School of Business where he achieved honors in his class.  He possesses American Board Certifications in Internal Medicine, Integrative & Holistic Medicine, and Gastroenterology

Originally born and raised in San Francisco, California, Dr. Tan chose to take his love of science and passion for helping others to pursue a career in the medical field.  He believes that the root cause of many medical illnesses begins with the gut.  He finds his chosen specialty especially rewarding since he is able to perform both diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to help his patients feel better and improve their quality of life.  He also feels it gratifying to be able to prevent certain cancers, including colorectal, stomach and esophageal cancers through proper screenings and early interventions.  Dr. Tan offers a personalized approach to managing digestive diseases including acid reflux, peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease, constipation, diarrhea, liver diseases etc.  He speaks English, Mandarin and basic Spanish.  He has served as a clinical professor for UCSF and has done a few medical missions to South America and Asia.  When not seeing patients, Dr. Tan enjoys playing basketball and practicing martial arts, traveling, trying new foods, and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Ivy Tan, DNP

Ivy Tan, NP

Ivy Tan is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with more than 20 years of combined experience in internal medicine, women’s health and now gastroenterology.  She received her Family Nurse Practitioner training at the University of California, Irvine and obtained her master’s degree at California State University, Fullerton.  She then went on to complete her Doctoral Degree in Nursing Practice at California State University of Fresno.  She also severed as a community clinical preceptor for the School of Nursing at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and the University of Cincinnati.

Ivy has practiced in several hospitals and clinics in the California Bay Area.  When she worked in primary care, she collaboratively developed and started a diabetic education program, a coumadin clinic and a hepatitis program.  She also gained extensive experience in Women’s Health issues from working in the OB/GYN department at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco.  Inspired by her patient’s desire for holistic/alternative treatment options, she further completed training in functional medicine and became one of the 1200 certified functional practitioners (IFMCP) in the world from the Institute for Functional Medicine in 2019.  Her passion is to provide comprehensive health/treatment options to her patients so they can be in charge of their own health and achieve optimal vitality. 

Ivy relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2021 to join her husband, Dr. George Tan, to open their first Digestive Health Center here.  In her free time, Ivy enjoys gardening and traveling with her family.  She also participates in charitable foundation medical missions to rural communities in China.

Ivy is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
